Who owns the footage
The booking flow is identical in every market. The rights are not. This is the clearest single answer to why ShotlistX is a vertical product rather than a generic freelance board — and it is the term most likely to be argued about after delivery. Related: agreements library.
Illustrative only — not legal documents
These pages describe the structure, purpose and clause headings of agreements ShotlistX would put in front of counsel before launch. They are not executed agreements, they create no obligations, they have not been reviewed by a lawyer, and nothing here is legal advice. No clause bodies are published, and no compliance certification is claimed.
The default
Creator retains copyright. Client gets a scoped licence.
Same starting position everywhere, then scoped by term, territory, media and exclusivity. Buyout is a priced upgrade rather than a silent default — which is not generosity, it is what the professionals we need as supply will actually sign.
Term
How long the licence lasts — a listing licence dies when the property comes off the market.
Territory
Local, national or worldwide. A regional brokerage does not need worldwide.
Media
Organic social, paid amplification, broadcast, print, out of home. Paid is priced apart from organic.
Exclusivity
Whether the creator may work for a competitor, and in what category window.
Compare
All eight markets side by side
Every row is a different commercial reality. A wedding client expects the film forever; a brokerage's licence expires the day the listing does.

Minors and parental consent
The amended COPPA Rule reached full compliance in April 2026. It expands what counts as personal information, requires separate parental consent before disclosure to a third party, imposes retention limits, and requires a written security programme. A child's image and voice are in scope.
SafeSport MAAPP
Photography and recording are prohibited in locker rooms and changing areas, with a narrow exception requiring both parental consent and organisational approval. One-to-one adult–minor contact is restricted, which affects how a creator may message a young athlete.
